Following her graduation from Algonquin College's Graphic Design program in May 2011, Meredith was thrilled to work with the Ottawa Folk Festival, offering website support and designing many new applications for the festival, including programs, banners, signs, and merchandise.

At present, Meredith works as a children's book illustrator and graphic design for DC Canada Educational Development.

Meredith also takes on freelance projects in her spare time.

CD Package

This CD release package includes a disc, case, and poster design. The images used were chosen by the client. The typesetting created contrasts with the detail and antiquity of the engravings to give a modern twist to an artform from another time.

Poster Design

A highlight of Meredith's freelance work is the opportunity to create eye-catching posters for musicians. She has designed posters and album artwork for Golden Bloom since 2008. Listen to their music here.

Restaurant Rebrand

This client chose to revise their menu and target a more specific market. The logo design reflects a more modern and masculine identity. The icon of the steer reflects the chef's roots and focus on Texas cuisine.

Photography

A photoshoot can generate consistent and polished images which enhance a design project. In order to offer my clients a complete package, I can provide high quality photos, and can also recommend a number of photographers who offer more specialized packages.

Infograph

This print piece uses an original illustration and hand-drawn type to portray the distribution of milk production in the United States. The goal of the piece was to make a rather dry subject more interesting through the use of humour—the cow udder forms the shape of the United States' map.

Animated Identity

This animated identity piece was completed for a class project. I chose the brand Six Shooter Records, a Toronto-based record label, as the subject. The video features Six Shooter's logo and a 12 second audio clip from a Luke Doucet song. The sound effects were sourced from freesound.org. The project was created using After Effects.
